The Scarlet Letter
Green Mothers’ Club episode seven begins after Chun-Hui’s dramatics. While Jae-ung attempts to feel the party atmosphere, he’s about to be unsympathetic to what his wife has just been told. Anyway, the next day he takes a dig at Chun-Hui’s story of how and why she had the bag she had. So, with the friendship yet again broken between her and Eun-Pyo, she decides to speak out online claiming that she had an affair and that Eun-Pyo was released from her position as a professor.
At the police precinct called Jeong Woon-Vaek, the detectives are having a discussion about the suicide case of Jin-Ha. There is no doubt that this woman had been going through depression so she definitely must have committed suicide. The detail of this affair reaches them too as messages exchanged between the two showed there was some form of contact between them. Jae-Ung goes to see Luis, inquiring about the events.
He admits they were in a brief relationship in France, and adds that Eun-Pyo was crazy about him and kept asking why they broke up. Finally, Jae-Ung walks off.
Eun-Pyo’s character, alas, is now associated with sin. The ladies snicker about her behind close doors, and the neighborhood baker refuses to work with her. So of course, Eun-Pyo has been anticipating Chun-Hui, but with the urgency, she has no choice but to sprint into an elevator, paying no attention towards Eun-Pyo.
Ju-Seok, Man-Su, and Yu-Bin left for dinner where Ju-Seok first thanked Man-su for reminding him of the school for gifted children and rather “sarcastically” said that he should purchase all the available food that Yu-Bin did not manage to get into the school that Yu-Bin was unsuccessful in getting into. Further on, Ju-Seok asks about the etomidate. It appears that Man Su, though disgraced the first time around, may have been an illegal drug dealer. Ju-Seok laughs it off, saying that is obviously not what he is inquiring for (when Man-Su says he will not do it again).
Chun-Hui and Eun-Pyo get to speak to their sons’ teacher on separate occasions and the teacher feels that it is best they schedule a group therapy session in a bid to heal the wrath in the room. Eun-Pyo finally comes across Jin-Ha who other group members are still talking, and because of that she starts breathing rapidly as if she has just run a race. Chukwudi finally recovers, and she along with Chun-Hui starts accusing each other about what transpired. Eun-Pyo also claims that Chun-Hui was the last person to leave the company of Jin-Ha that night and that she probably has something to do with it.
Kim Yeong-Mi quickly jumps in to defend Eun-Pyo, claiming that Chun-Hui is most likely lying. She discloses that she was in the elevator and saw them together on that night. As luck would have it, this whole occurrence takes a turn for Jin-Ha.
In class, all the students curse at Yu-Bin, making remarks that gracefully, she will not be in the class once more. She retaliates and takes some students’ books and puts them in the dustbin, for which she is reprimanded by the teacher.
At Young-Mi’s house, little Jul-Pin is touching some of his father’s belongings leading the dweller of the house to run to the bathroom and lock the door ‘inside’. The father seems to be angry as he shouts down his son asking him to open the door. There is a kind of nervous fear in the man when he tries to turn the lights, on and off. Young-Mi returns home and learns the sequence of events and no word can describe her feelings.
The funeral of Jin-ha takes place. Eun-Pyo is busy trying to send a message to Chun-Hui and reconcile with the lady. While staring at Jin-Ha’s picture, Eun-Pyo is unable to suppress her emotions and tears stream down her cheeks. There is Jae-Ung, who is still too far from Luis and can expect only this to develop.
While thе rumors concerning Eun-Pyo and Luis circulate in the community, a mother in law slaps Eun-Pyo in presence of everybody and because of the fact that other people are present, she tells them that Eun-Pyo has a good discourtesy to come here and pretend to care. While Jae-ung’s wife is taken outside, he goes for where the fighting started and leaves Eun-Pyo where she starts explaining how the story of what happened went.
Eun-Pyo and Luis tried going out but when Jin-Ha came along, Luis dropped her and started dating Jin-Ha. That was how she had de of relationship with Jin-Ha. Whatever Eun-Pyo had cherished, she always took away from him. Hence, there was no infidelity, but Eun-Pyo clearly wants answers about why she broke up with Luis in the first place.
Jae-Ung accompanies Eun-Pyo in the car and as they head back home, he expresses his regrets for not being there, showing signs of empathy for not offering his wife any kind of assistance. But he sure does try to say that he considers her as being the finest person he has met. In the car, however, a notification sounds and it shows a text where one of the Class Three boys is said to have raped one of the girls of the class.
Episode Review
The Episode Green Mothers’ Club Episode 5 & Episode 6 Recap. In this Episode, Chun-Hui was seen trying to tell other people variety of rumors of Eun-Pyo. It is now understandable that she certainly did not have an affair with Luis still the guilt in her voice and the way she was behaving throughout the episode does not aid her. Some would argue this is a consequence of the guilt that is more self-absorbed and delusionary in expecting punishment as some form of virtue but it is still painful to observe how she is treated as a doormat.
As the episode comes to an end, Dong-Seok is immediately in the crosshairs regarding these vile accusations. Such accusations which one can assume most likely Yu-Bin has spread. A classic case of learning corruptness from the mom, the daughter. Some part of me hopes that Eun-Pyo does find the guts to face this, as it appears the plot is heading back to the children and their education and what not.
Eun-Pyo does work here well to an extent, this is a character that should develop more but at this time, he is quite frustrating to watch as the main lead, which actually makes a lot of sense if one considers the story arc. So far the show looks for a new story, one that has not been here for quite some time and the last 7 episodes seem to have been building up to one.
