Green Mothers’ Club – K-Drama Episode 1 (2022)

Oh, How I Wish All My Neighbors Were Like Me

In episode 1 of “Green Mothers Club”, Lee Eun-Pyo has a nightmare and in that dream, a woman accuses her of making her son cry while Eun-Pyo is conducting a class. We see her sit up straight and hold her breath all in one motion as the day begins.

As the sun rises and shines in the different households, so do the umbrellas of other families such as Yun-Ju and her child Soo-In, Young-Mi along with her children Julpin and Sae-Bom. And also Chun-hui and her daughter Yoo-Bin who are the real Queen Bees. And also Eun-Pyo’s dream woman Jin-Ha who also dreams Henry’s mother.

Together these four ladies form a group called Green which is a kind of traffic safety movement. Anyhow 10 minutes into the episode after the required white truck innuendo in Comes Eun-Pyo’s new apartment, she observes a woman’s neighborhood interference in rescuing a boy from rushing across the sidewalk.

The movers come to assist Eun-Pyo in moving her belongings and in the process, they notice some of her mother inlaws books stacked quite haphazardly. Eun-Pyo’s acquaintance Yun-Ju then pays her visit and the ladies begin to chat about how hard it has been for them to raise their children.

Eun-Pyo believes in the virtue of independence and exploration when it comes to children, while Yun-ju intends to have Soo-In modeled after her looks and ways.

At this point, it seems that Eun-Pyo’s move can be attributed to the partner she has separated with. However, the particulars of this are as of this moment still ambiguous and therefore all such speculation should be restrained for now!

Outside, Eun-Pyo bumps into Byeon Chun-Hui, an incensed lady who doesn’t approve of walnuts in a woman’s bakery. This heated debate leads Eun-Pyo to become embroiled into this pathetic issue, pushed into tasting a walnut puff pastry to judge if the pastry is palatable or not. She doesn’t like such exposure so there is an uncomfortable pause while the two women get onto the common elevator.

It appears that Chun-hui lives opposite her household, but when Eun-Pyo runs to give her an apology on not having gotten her an appropriate Hauswarming gift, Chun-Hui carelessly tells her not to worry about it and that they can go on ot live their lives. While chatting to Yun-Ju about the previous dispute, Yun-Ju tells her that Chun-Hee is a hard driving ‘tiger mum’ and Yu-Bin that she’s the daughter of a high flier. To resolve her conflicts with the other mums, Yun-Ju recommends that her friend attend an upcoming birthday celebration.

Eun-Pyo is late, she does not know how to buy a birthday present and ends up alone due to the fact that her son, Dong-Seok, is around. Very soon the very same Goddess of the cambree group appears to drop off her son Henry. However, she really does not have time because of work. Right at that moment, Chun-Hui arrives with her child.

As the women take their seats, Eun-Pyo becomes the center of attention as she is seated next to Jun-Hu. EunPyo had some mysterious background until Jun-Hu, who failed to fulfill her promise and stop blabbering about the past, including EunPyo’s relationship with a professor and that she is indeed a graduate.

Eun-Pyo downplays Dong–Seok’s admission into an academy, saying “I am not that kind of mother.” She mentions that the mother’s ambition in indulging herself in this is what makes other women look down upon her. Yun-Ju goes on to say quite a snake herself in that she decides to distance herself from Eun-Pyo and goes on to the other women. What she is really doing here though is trying to find better education for her child.

To make matters worse, Dong–Seok goes ahead and spoils a violin recital for Yu–Bin. Then he tumbles and manages to snap her violin on a trampoline. If the competition was not already blistering hot, it is for sure, now. Once more, she sent her account details and the shocker part was that the violin goes for three million won (approximately £2000).

It is quite intriguing to know that Eun-Pyo goes to get a bookshelf first and the seller is no one else but Jin-Ha. For now, we do not have that wider scope of their history but Jin-Ha looks quite jovial that she even remembers how Eun-Pyo used to stay with her in France.

This was made especially true when Jin-ha said that she would help Eun-Pyo take the bookshelf in the house. It was awkward, to say the least. After dropping it off, there is Jin-Ha and Henry who are returning for the phone call, from Chun-Hui which Jin-Ha’s facial expression the more Given that there is no real context. fast forward beneficiaries who are vicious towards the children, as they are to suck the woman dry when the kids come up for a pitiful attempt to do right by them.

Eun-Pyo slowly heads heartbreaks repeat sweats, attempts at standing after collapsing. and a part of them Ah, maa, this is because she replayed the events of her career from the previous evening in her head and when her children, the little devils, pressed a button and published a secret note about Professor Lee from her mobile phone.

Eun-Pyo, while being a wreck, does all that she can for the children, which includes bringing them to Sangwe Elementary for drop-off. As this happens, Jin-ha is in the process of texting Eun-Pyo and wonders why the latter is not texting back.

The scene also brings to the fore some disjointed recollections of Jin-Ha’s earlier life including those memories involving her estranged spouse Luis Bunuel. When Eun-pyo faints, it is Luis who saves her and runs away with her. He is seen by all the women inside the house as he exits the place. On the other hand, Jin-ha seems to attack her very own photograph taken with schoolmate Eun-Pyo, an action that suggests growing competition between the two.

Video and Episode Reviews: Concluding Remarks

So it took 10 minutes before the white truck showed up but thankfully no one was hurt.

With the hilarious women interactions, it goes right to the top of the list of best opening episodes in the genre. That birthday party was just, wow, and I don’t blame Eun-Pyo. She walks into the lion’s den and encounters a bunch of women who are nearly ready to blow anyone’s head off who disrespects their order in the pecking system.

This episode portrays the feeling of alienation so accurately and the characters are quite intriguing and certainly have a lot of hidden memories. I would imagine that in the past, Jin-Ha “snatched” Luis from Eun-Pyo, which is why the two broke up and their relationship is sort of strained. Then again, that’s just a speculation at this stage so we’ll have to wait and see.

At this juncture however, Green Mothers’ Club bears a resemblance to a mixture of Sky Castle and Graceful Friends but with a female dominance. That’s an interesting combination but we still have questions as to whether this one is really going to be the one which will knock it out of the park.
